Local Services platform policies: Photo Requirements
Google loves to update it’s policies! The most recent update was in regards to the photos you upload into your ad account. If these policies are violated, Google may take down the photo, disable your account, and suspend your ad privileges so it’s important that you take note!
DO:
- DO use these file types: JPEG, PNG, BMP, ICO
- DO use photos larger than 640×640 pixels (most phone camera photos are much larger than this, so you’re safe!)
- DO limit the file size to 10MB (again, most phone photos are within this limit)
- DO limit your number of photos to 100 or less
DO NOT:
- DO NOT post pictures unrelated to your business (example: stock photos of people or places)
- DO NOT post pictures that have another business’s name watermark (this includes your commercial photos that contain the signs on the property)
- DO NOT post pictures that have personal identifiers (sensitive information about yourself or others)
- DO NOT post pictures that contain phone numbers, email addresses, or street addresses. (this INCLUDES PHOTOS OF YOUR BRANDED TRUCKS if there is a phone number or email address showing)
- DO NOT post pictures that are blurry, out of focus, or have poor lighting. The photos should be clear.
- DO NOT post pictures that are derived from screenshots. (one example would be a screenshot of an aerial view map)
- DO NOT post duplicate pictures.
